Booking terms
1. Who we are
Riptide Theatre Ltd ("Riptide", "we") is a company registered in England and Wales, number 12489037. Registered office: Patrick Studios, East Street Arts, St Mary's Lane, Leeds LS9 7EH. Email: [email protected].
2. Booking
Your booking is confirmed when your payment goes through and we email you. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. Please check your email address when you book: it's how you get into the experience.
3. The experiences
Reset (£45). A 21-day creative retreat, done at home. It begins on the 1st of the month you choose, each day opens on its own date, and you can return to every day for a year from your start date. Reset is for people aged 16 and over.
Sonder (£10 for one, £14 for two). A sound walk in Leeds, played in your phone's browser. Your ticket lasts 30 days from booking and you can walk it as often as you like in that time. A one-person ticket opens on one phone and a two-person ticket on two. If you change phones, ask for a fresh link and the old one will stop working. Please keep your eyes on the road and walk at your own risk of the ordinary hazards of a city street. Sonder is for people aged 16 and over.
Project Intimacy (£15). A 14-day experience on WhatsApp with a partner we match you with. You'll need to fill in our questionnaire before your start date. Your partner will see your phone number; we share nothing else. Project Intimacy is for people aged 18 and over.
4. Refunds
- Reset: change your mind before the 1st of your month and we'll refund you in full. Once Reset has started we can't offer refunds, but we'll happily move you to a later month.
- Project Intimacy: we don't offer refunds, except if we can't match you with a partner at the start of the project, in which case we refund you in full. If you choose to drop out, a refund isn't possible.
- Sonder: if you haven't opened your walk link, we'll refund you in full within 14 days of booking. Once the walk has been opened, we can't offer a refund.
- If we cancel or can't deliver an experience, we'll refund you in full.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 working days.
5. Your right to cancel
UK law normally gives you 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content, that right ends once the content starts to be supplied, if you've agreed to this. By booking Reset or Sonder, you ask us to give you access straight away and agree that you lose the right to cancel once you open your first day of Reset or your Sonder walk. Until then, you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund. Project Intimacy is a service on fixed dates; cancellation follows the refund rules above.
6. Gifts
If you buy an experience as a gift, the person you give it to uses it on these terms. A Reset gift can be started in any month within a year of purchase. Refunds on gifts go to the person who paid.
7. Taking part
Please be kind to other participants and to anyone you meet during an experience. We may end your access without a refund if you harass, threaten or abuse anyone taking part or working with us. Look after yourself: if anything in an experience is difficult, stop and contact us. At least one trained mental health first aider is attached to Reset and to Project Intimacy.
8. Our content
The sound, writing, images and design of our experiences belong to Riptide and the artists we work with. Your ticket is for your own personal use. Please don't record, copy or share the content, or share your access link beyond what your ticket allows.
9. If something goes wrong
If an experience doesn't work as it should, tell us and we'll put it right or refund you. We're not responsible for problems caused by your phone, connection or headphones, or for losses that weren't foreseeable when you booked. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
10. Your data
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
11. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version on our website when you book applies to your booking. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
